Our Story

Our story begins in 2017 as two college Juniors in pursuit of a new adventure. Christian, attending school at FSU, and Danielle a student at UCF. They both made a somewhat sporadic decision to enroll in a semester-long study abroad trip to Valencia, Spain.

With hope of little more than to come home with a few new stories, travel experiences, and maybe some new friends, Danielle and Christian wouldn’t have believed you if you’d have told them they would have met their future life partners on their first day in Spain.

Before they even unpacked their bags, Danielle and her roommate, Tori, decided to introduce themselves to the apartment of cute guys downstairs. [Enter cute guy, Christian].

Despite her interesting fashion choices, Christian gravitated to Danielle’s charm and ability to make others laugh. Throughout the semester, Danielle and Christian shared a friend group, and despite Christian’s best efforts not to, they kept the relationship platonic. As time passed, Danielle began to watch Christian’s character unfold, and decided she just might give him a chance. With what time they had left in Spain, Danielle and Christian made some unforgettable memories with no expectation that they would see each other again.

After returning to FL and jumping right into a summer internship, Danielle had a bad case of the post-study abroad blues. She mustered up the courage to send a not-desperate-at-all Snapchat of herself crying to Christian. When Christian received the Snapchat, he was already back up at Florida State diligently starting classes to complete a minor in English… which lasted all of 2 weeks before he threw in the towel and headed up to New Hampshire for the annual summer trip.

TLDR; Christian came back to South Florida for the rest of Summer 2017, he and Danielle met each other’s families, had a proper “first date”, and became “official” after Christian asked Danielle to be his girlfriend at Disney World (not on It’s a Small World).

Senior year of college brought countless trips back and forth from Orlando to Tallahassee. Graduation brought incredible job offers, taking Christian to Dallas and Danielle to San Francisco. When distance continued to test their relationship, a God-sent job opportunity allowed Danielle to transfer to Dallas, TX. After 2 ½ years, they finally ended their long-distance relationship!

In 2020, COVID came, Dallas went, and Christian and Danielle decided to take a chance on moving to Charlotte, NC. Fast forward through two years of apartment hopping and many hours spent on Zillow, the stars aligned and Danielle and Christian bought their first condo. On September 9, 2023, Christian pulled off the ultimate surprise and proposed to a very unsuspecting Danielle.

Now, the story continues and only gets better from here. If you are reading this, you’ve been interwoven in the pages that have made up our favorite story. We are so incredibly grateful for you and cannot wait to celebrate our love with you in May!
